Bahrain Cuts Golden Residency Visa Cost by 35% to Attract More Investors
Investors and qualified professionals can now more easily get lifetime residency in Bahrain thanks to a 35% reduction in the cost of the Golden Residency Visa.
Foreigners can now settle in Bahrain more easily and affordably. A significant modification to the Golden Residency Visa program was recently announced by the Ministry of Interior's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA). The required minimum investment has been lowered by 35%.
Lower Investment Requirement for Golden Visas
Until now, golden visa applicants had to invest at least 200,000 Bahraini Dinars (approximately USD 530,000) in real estate to qualify. The current threshold is 130,000 Bahraini Dinars, or roughly $345,000 USD.
Previous Investment: 200,000 BHD (530,000 USD)
New Investment: 130,000 BHD (USD 345,000)
This move means that anyone who already owns property in Bahrain valued at least 130,000 BHD can now apply for the Golden Residency Visa. The move is likely to bring in more investors and professionals seeking long-term stability in the Gulf.

Why Bahrain’s Golden Residency Stands Out
The fact that Bahrain's Golden Residency Visa is genuinely permanent—a lifetime opportunity for you and your family to settle with ease—is one of its main selling points.
Here’s what makes the Golden Residency Visa more appealing:
No Expiration Date: The residence provides total stability and is renewable for life.
Family Coverage: Spouses, children, and even parents can be included under one residency.
Work Flexibility: Visa holders can take up employment anywhere in Bahrain without limits.
Easy Travel: The visa provides many entry for seamless in-and-out travel.
Dependent Sponsorship: Holders can sponsor family members, enhancing ease for long-term residing.
Business and Lifestyle Advantages
Through the program, foreigners can leverage Bahrain's expanding digital and business ecosystem and own 100% of the company. The country is noted for its affordable housing, safe environment, and efficient online government services, significant features that appeal to investors and experienced professionals.
Why It's Important
Bahrain hopes to boost demand in its real estate market and improve its standing as a regional hub for long-term investment, commerce, and residency by lowering the requirements.
This shift reflects a larger trend in the Gulf to make residency simpler and more accessible in order to draw in international investors and talent.
