The change means that paper applications for the Post-Study Work Visa will no longer be accepted after November 15. Applications received by that date will still be processed.
What International Students Should Know.
The new Short-Term Graduate Work Visa has a strict application timeframe. Students must apply within three months of their student visa's expiration.
That means that anyone whose student visa expires before August 16, 2026 will not be eligible when applications start on November 16.
The deadline for the Post-Study Work Visa varies depending on the course and previous visa held. Applications are normally required to be filed within:
3 months till the student visa expires
6 months in some circumstances.
12 months for specific qualified courses and visa holders.
The new Immigration Online system is also intended to improve application tracking and reflect current visa criteria.
